10 v24 -- love in the 21st century

10v24

Other creative things

I have a lot of ideas, and I've done: greeting cards, lo-fi music and spoken word, generative art, and podcasts. In general, I'm not as proud of these things as I am my writing, and I don't want anyone to not read my writing because they got bogged down with some not-as-good side-project material. I think if you're into my writing enough, you might search for them. They're out there.

May 2017: Here's something I'll share here for now:

This is a song, lyrics that are suitable for singing to old hymns. (I had Sacred Harp in mind.)

Something slow and minor would be best. It's in common meter, or common meter double.

Now Jesus saw the governor,
The king who saw the man;
Then Pilate asked him "What is truth?"
And tried to wash his hands.

Forgive him, Lord, forgive him, Lord,
He knew not what he did;
Forgive him, Lord, forgive him, Lord,
He knew not what he did.

And blind, we love the sight of life,
Our hearts we cannot see;
Confusion and distraction press,
We are who we must be.

Forgive us, Lord, forgive us, Lord,
We know not what we do;
Forgive us, Lord, forgive us, Lord,
We know not what we do.
